I think it's a mistake, and I'm disapointed. But I'm surprised that you have a problem with it.
As for repairing our international image, I think he's doing a great job. As for the spending, lets see how it turns out. Don't loose sight of the fact that Bush left Obama a hell of a mess to clean up. Two wars, and the worst financial crisis since the great depression. Now back to the subject of Iraq. It was not necessary to take out Saddam. If it was , Bush Sr. would have done it years ago. Saddam was contained and for all intents and purposes, impotent. Gil likes to post feel good, patriotic comments that have nothing to do with reality. Here is the reality. If it wasn't for oil, Iraq would be given the same status as Kazakhstan. Pat Buchanan said it best when he referred to the invasion of Iraq as an Imperialistic war. Considering the fact that you weren't aware of the fact that Saddam was Sunni, I think it's you who should start paying attention.
Merry Christmas.Bob Bohnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17727853354188545192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463472772679876402.post-60925569767727724922009-12-14T17:26:11.637-05:002009-12-14T17:26:11.637-05:00Bob:

Obama the clown promised transparency and bipartisanship. Obama the clown just said that he has repaired America's image around the world. Obama the clown is signing into law spending bills that are completely irresponsible. Where is your outrage?

By the way, it was necessary to go into Iraq, especially since Bush agreed with his now liberal detractors who begged him to do something about rogue Saddam and his numerous violations of UN sanctions.

Pay attention!Pro Christ Pro Gunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03810295701134994178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463472772679876402.post-59515690295612379862009-12-13T23:04:02.183-05:002009-12-13T23:04:02.183-05:00Gil - I never said I wasn't proud of people li...Gil - I never said I wasn't proud of people like Green. To the contrary, I'm very proud and supportive of those who serve this country. However, I'm not proud of a government that lies and skews intelligence to wage war on a country that is no threat to the United States. It amazes me that a man with a college education buys into the BS that we wage war for noble reasons. In a 110 year period, the US has participated in the overthrow of 14 governments. Look how well Iran turned out. Bringing democracy to Iraq. Do you really believe that's why we went there? Ask yourself. Could Bush have sold the war to the people of this country if he used that as his reason for going to war? Get real. I don't I think you have a tendancy to confuse patriotism with love of government.Bob Bohnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17727853354188545192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463472772679876402.post-21921577833817608962009-12-13T22:20:36.289-05:002009-12-13T22:20:36.289-05:00Hmmm. The two wars have so much in common. Come on Gil. You can do better than that. You're right about one thing. Freedom and Democracy are worth fighting for. Good t...Bob,
You sound angrier than Bob McMahon.

Good thing for South Korea more of your ilk weren't around back then.

There are plenty of South Koreans and Iraqis who think freedom and democracy are worth fighting and dying for. And they certainly appreciate America's efforts to help them obtain them, even if you don't.Spencerbloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09091827187116268547noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5463472772679876402.post-83339570534342024492009-12-13T17:49:35.240-05:002009-12-13T17:49:35.240-05:00Gil - That's right Gil. I agree. Lets face it....Gil - That's right Gil. I agree. Lets face it. Iraq wasn't a sovereign nation (according to Spencerblog), so we had every right to go in there and remove Saddam. Even if we had to twist intelligence, and lie in order to do it. We should all be walking around puffing our chests out over this huge victory! 4,360 US military deaths, and over 103,000 Iraqi deaths is a small price to pay for the installation of a shakey Shiite Theocracy that turns the clock back on womens rights. Burkhas are back in style, liquor is on its way out, mission accomplished! I still get a warm fuzzy feeling everytime a car bomb goes off. Mark Green, and the rest of our military, has a right to be proud of the fact that they served this country, and they served it well, but we as a nation have no right to be proud of what we have done to Iraq. Regardless of what you, or Mark Green thinks, the facts show that the overthrow, capture, and execution of Saddam was not thoroughly justified. But it's obvious that your new mission in life is to convince us otherwise. There's an angry mayor in Media who is still fighting the war in Vietnam. You two would make a lovely couple.Bob Bohnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17727853354188545192noreply@blogger.com
