There Will Be Whining

Robert Samuelson says "Start Drilling" and he's not talking about teeth. Those chompers of environmentalists will be set on edge by such a common sense suggestion.

Money Q:

Members of Congress complain loudly about high oil profits ($40.6 billion for ExxonMobil last year) but frustrate those companies from using those profits to explore and produce in the United States.

  1. It still amazes me how we tie our own hands on this matter. We're at the mercy of OPEC and increased international demand yet we can't stop and take care of ourselves. Technology isn't there yet and gas is ready to hit $4.00 a gallon. Don't give me any more B.S. about the weak dollar, give me Fuel Independence!!!

  2. It is time to tell the moose-huggers to STFU and just start drilling. So what if they get their fragile Lib feelings hurt? So what? Why does such a small band of eviro kooks get to hold our nation hostage?

  4. That’s no reason not to drill and we need to start sometime.

And stop trying to blame Bush and Cheney for everything under the sun, DD.

  5. Dave, I didn't bother reading the weak dollar arguement, we've wasted our time before on it. How about being energy independent by utilizing OUR OWN oil?

WE HAVE PLENTY. GO TO WIKIPEDIA FOR YOUR BACKUP, I'll SAY THE SAME THING

  7. Great, short term, exactly what we need!

I'm mentioned this before - 10 -year window for domestic drilling. Allows us to end foreign dependancy and develop/ implement the next wave of technologies. Why does this seem too easy to me?

  11. Christ...

10-year period, implement REAL tax breaks on alternative technologies, scaling up towards the end. This is plenty of time to transition into new technologies while reducing dependence on foreign oil.

Uber-liberals just can't come up with plans, all they do is bitch, as we're seeing here with Dave. You can't sit around depending on the technology to come about while being dependant on others allthewhile knowing you have your own stock being held up by Bureaucratic bull$&%#.

We're talking about oil, isn't jonas due to show up?
