Public or Private? Are You Kidding?

The big question: Will the Obamas put their daughters in D.C. public schools?

Here's a prediction: NO!

And an offer: Does anybody want to bet on that?

Clarence Page minces around the question. And then finishes with this chestnut:

"The public schools belong to all of us, whether we use them or not. We should treat the students as though they belong to all of us, too."

This is baloney. The public schools belong to the bureaucracies and teachers' unions. We just pay for them. The students belong to their parents and in D.C. the poor and middle-class ones are forced, for lack of cleverness and resources, to send their kids to these lousy schools. At least Page gives props to the heroic Chancellor Michelle Rhee, who is fighting for reform every day. God bless her.

Since the Obama’s are just regular old folks, they should let their daughters enjoy all that “rich diversity” the DC Public School System has to offer. Lol…

Clarance Page is a black racist.

Vouchers are a taxpayer funded subsidy for the rich and well off to send there kids to private schools. For poor families, the voucher is not enough to make up the tuition they can't afford and the private schools are often located far from the poor neighborhoods the voucher supports falsely claim to be helping.

The Obama situation with the girls is predominately a security matter for the girls' safety and a desire to minimize the disruption to the other students.

Didn't McCain's kids go to private schools because Cindy is filthy rich? Didn't hear you complaining about Bush's kids going to private school while Bush was leaving so many children behind with his education policies.

Boy, you guys will complain about anything related to Obama. God forbid you find out what brand of soap he uses.

How many people complain about all the kids in Delco going to Catholic School. If you can afford it God bless you. I cant so my kids go to public school. I dont remember all this complaining about Rick Santorums kids going to private school last year by Republicans when he was running. I recall he was having the taxpayers footing the bill last for him.

the big issue with santorum was that he and his family don't even live in pennsylvania, but in virginia. santorum's absentee ballot was rejected this year because he isn't a resident.

I remember Mrs. Obama commenting on how hard it is for their family to afford all the "lessons" ( dancing and whatever else ) the girls are taking so how would you expect them to be able to afford private school? LOL!!
