Actually, Biden is the most pro-gay Vice President.
I don't recall Cheney calling to remove Don't Ask Don't Tell and having gays serve openly in the military. I haven't seen Cheney supporting gay marriage (and I'm pretty sure he specifically spoke against it). Biden and Obama will be working behind the scenes to push the country toward accepting gay marriage.

oh, of course, behind the scenes, despite Obama's words at the debates.

this behind the scenes information that Diano clearly knows about fascinates me. Gil, what do you think they're doing behind the scenes and what can diano reveal with his inside information? Do you think Obama and Biden in the lab last night to the wee hours of the morning putting together their cancer vaccine that is now being mass produced following the innauguration and will be administered to "Citizens" (Not "My Fellow Amercians") on tax day? Will said cancer vaccine get rid of our favorite partisan cheerleader?

Will it cure me of my excessive type-o's?

Right, Steve. The country wasn't ready for it, and Obama's job will be to get them ready. He was on record as opposed to a Constitutional ban. He will work to help the states expand gay marriage to get to "critical mass". And he will appoint Supreme Court justices that understand the connection between the current gay right issue and Loving vs Virginia.
Do you think that the Supreme Court was wrong in banning laws that prevented blacks and whites from getting married?

Obama's going to bring the country to the point where the majority accept gay marriage.

Steve, it's not a big "behind the scenes in total secrecy" type of thing. Obama has frequently and recently mentioned gay rights when listing civil rights and equality and he is picking openly gay people in various roles. You have to do a little reading between the lines and pay attention to some nuances (beyond the scope of you neocons), but the direction that Obama wants on this issue is VERY clear.

The tactical details are like assembling a jigsaw puzzle by putting in non-adjacent pieces first. People like you can't see the whole picture, but by the time the picture becomes clear, almost all the pieces will already be in place.

I'll give you another example: the way the right-wing as tried to diminish abortion rights. They toss in lots of little restrictions: age, parental consent, interstate travel, restricting RU-486 access, etc.
In a similar way, Obama will create roadblocks for people trying to deny rights to gays. Legislation on a range of issues will be worded to include both gay and straight. Judges will be picked that understand that being gay in an innate quality of some people, rather than a choice, and that "separate but equal" isn't really equal.
