WASHINGTON (AP) - House Democrats are likely to jettison family planning funds for the low-income from an $825 billion economic stimulus bill, officials said late Monday, following a personal appeal from President Barack Obama at a time the administration is courting Republican critics of the legislation.

Nancy Pelosi is a moron. I can't believe that she is allowed to speak on behalf of anybody let alone the majority of the United States Congress. Maybe now that Bush is gone and the media has no one to pick on for the next few years, people will start asking her more questions to get "news worthy" comments.
The new deal didn't work in the 30s - unfortunately, it took a war to boost a failing economy in the 40s.
different united states this time around - I don't think a new technology will boost us as we're much more of a service oriented nation now as opposed to a manufacturing giant back in the 40s.
