Gil - Now thats really cool. Imagine running a house on a dollar a day. In case anyone is interested, I installed a tankless hot water heater 3 yrs. ago. Its great. I highly recommend it.

I plan on installing a tankless heater when the present heater needs replacement. I priced them out a few years ago, they were $600 then, guessing they're up in the $700-$800 range now. Add Labor and it will probably exceed a grand.
Steve - Mine was about a grand installed. Home depot. I bought the smaller of the two, because I live alone. Got to tell you, it was worth it. Not only will you save money, but you never run out of hot water. Thats a problem I had with my old tank. I also went with a front loading washing machine. That not only saves water, but because it spins and drains differently than a top loader, the clothes arent as wet when they come out, so it cuts dryer time in about half.
I will probably get a front loading washer when the present one runs out. I didn't buy one a few years ago because the new front-ends were over a grand each at the time. But I'm hoping to get more out of this kenmore.
Steve - If you're not aware of it, the Sears outlet near Christiana Mall in Del. is a great place to buy appliances. Lots of scratch & dent, and every once in a while (once a month if I remember right) they discount the discounts.
