Critics of the stimulus package have pointed out it includes $88 million for new construction in Milwaukee's public schools even though 15 of its schools are empty due to declining enrollment and no new construction projects have been planned.
Our own Joe Sestak recently boasted that the stimulus bill would bring $23.7 million in school construction projects to his district. Just where and on what that money would be spent, well nobody seems to know right now.
For the time being, it's just a shiny trinket that Joe can hold up before the eyes of the voters and twirl.
