I seriously doubt that the Kopechne family reads or is even aware of Iowahawk or Spencerblog.
Or that your own outrage is the result of real concern for their feelings. Could it be that you are more offended that dark fun is being made of a political hero of yours?
Ted Kennedy isn't a hero of mine. For that matter, neither was John Kennedy. I just find this to be in poor taste. I'm surprised that you find this funny. Were you amused when Bush was pretending to look under the oval office desk for WMD's while soldiers were being killed in Iraq? Was that funny too?
If I thought you were a bad person, I wouldn't still be here. I just dont see alot of humor in it. But then we disagreed on "No Country for Old Men" didn't we?
Wow! Its like the good old days. I think its time to try the Locust Crest again. What do you say? Maybe Steve and Shields can show this time around.
Gil - You find this tasteless garbage funny and worthy of mention on your blog?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the Kopechne family would be rolling on the floor laughing.
Yes, Apparently.

Not particularly. But it certainly didn't offend me enough to go into high dudgeon.
ReplyDeleteSuch sanctimoniousness has a tendency to fall pretty flat.
I like dark humor. I laughed at "Tropic Thunder," even though real soldiers were still dying in Iraq when I saw it.
If that makes me a bad person... so be it.
At least they didn't go full r*****
