My previous take on Obama has been that we should expect a Carteresque presidency...long on idealism and short on results.
Now we are beginning to see more Nixon tendencies -- paranoia and enemies' lists -- without the skilled international diplomacy.
How disillusioning it must be for his fervent believers to see their celebrity icon exposed as just another cynical politician.
