Krauthammer is great at spin and cherry picking, but terrible at actual analysis.
He claims:
"Just last month Gallup found that conservatives outnumber liberals by 2 to 1 (40 percent to 20 percent) and even outnumber moderates (at 36 percent)."
He leaves out that in recent polling, only 20% would identify themselves as Republican. In the Republican district of NY-23, the Conservative LOST and the Democrat won.
The conservatives are pushing moderates out of the Republican party. Shrinking is not expanding.
Krauthammer tries to diminish Obama's win by saying he ran "against a politically incompetent opponent". He fails to realize that it was Sarah Palin herself, as well as McCain's incompetence in picking her, that cemented their defeat.
Obama's recession now has an unemployment rate topping 10%. This past election showed the voters know you can't spend your way to prosperity. When will the Democrat Congress wake up to that simple understanding?
