Winning, Whining and Eagles Fans

As for the Eagles coming off a big win against the Giants and being 9-4, what Jack said.

Time to quit bitching and enjoy the ride for however long it lasts.

I'll bitch all I want Gil. I'll run circles around any arguement you bring to the table.

For example - between 2001 and 2008, the NFC had eight (8) different representatives go to the Super Bowl - Rams, Bucs, Panthers, Eagles, Seahawks, Bears, Giants and Cardinals. That represents 50% of the NFC. Fifty friggin Percent. Makes our appearance in SB XXXIX seem a bit shallow, doesn't it?

In addition, the Eagles lost the NFC Championship games in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2008, essentially acting as 'doorman' for the NFC. They couldn't seal the deal when it counted due to poor time management, play selection and the usual assortment of intangibles that seems to doom this team year after year.

Let's look at what will doom us in this year's postseason - Saints and Vikings - explosive offenses - great passing attacks, great runnings games, offensive minded coaches in Payton and Childress - one is a former Eagles assistant who knows our playcalling and schemes, the other is a former coordinator in the NFC east who has always had our number and has coached circles around Reid for YEARS. How about the defense? Linebackers in dismay, Strongside LB has been a pass-thru for opposing TE's, secondary was exposed vs the NYG and can't TACKLE. Add in the fact that we still have no credible DE opposite Trent Cole and our defense clearly can't compete with either team this year.

And this is forgetting the offense that can't sustain a time consuming drive that puts these opposining Offenses on ice. Let's not forget the typical pass rush to McNabb that results in those infamous worm-balls and moon-balls we've seen for 11 years.
