Target, Isolate, Distract

David Harsanyi on the Masters of Distraction.

Poor Democrats! The people are angry at them and some of them are behaving badly, insensitively using scary words, like "target" and holding candle-light ("Torch" light?) vigils. These tea partiers are "mad, MAD," they'll tell you. As in crazy and insane. And let's not forget, racist. And anybody who doesn't agree with their badly-needed, history-making healthcare reform bill are racists by proxy.

Will the Democrats' campaign of distraction work? It will with a certain portion of the media. But, with the voting public? I doubt it.

  1. WOW! Spencer the spin meister! They HAVE been behavng badly, and they continue to behave badly. Even some of thir political leaders recognize this. Boehner said this about their behavior - "it's unacceptable" and he asked people to find other ways to make their voices heard. "Find your candidate," he said. "Call your Congressman. Go out and register people to vote. Volunteer on a campaign. Make your voice heard, but do it the right way." Trust me on this. Of course this was after he said the passing of the health care bill was armageddon, and that Driehaus would be "a dead man". I think Boehner's upset about the tanning bed tax.

And McCain pledged to be an obstructionist for the remainder of his term. So he was elected NOT to represent?

The party of loosers has turned into the party of sore loosers, and for that, they will pay at the polls.

  2. The party loosers?

Bob, I'll bet you a Sierra Nevada, that come Election Day the party of goverment and dependency loses more congressional seats than the party of loosers.

  3. Also see this for the Democrats exaggerations of threats in an attempt to change the subject from the bi-partisan disgust of their bill.

  4. Historically the party on power always looses more seats, but it won't be the slaughter that the Republicans are predicting.

  7. The Dems have such large majorities in both the House and Senate that it is unlikely for both to flip.

But, just for fun, I'll bet the House does.

BTW Bob, you do realize you keep misspelling "losers" right?
