Rev. Al and President Barry: A Match Made in Race-Hustling Heaven

In paying tribute to Rev. Al, President Obama attempts to shore up his political base of black voters, for the coming 2012 election."
The other thing that hasn’t changed," Obama continued, "is the National Action Network’s commitment to fight injustice and inequality here in New York City and across America. And that's not only a testament to Reverend Sharpton. It's a testament to all of you who are here tonight. I want to commend you for the work that you’ve done over the last two decades to lift up not only the African American community but the broader American family. That's what you’re about."
Yeah, bringing together the "broader American family" is what Al is all about.

That's what the Tawana Brawley hoax was all about. That's what the Crown Heights riot was all about. That's what the killings and arson at Freddie's Fashion Mart was all about; lifting the broader American family.

Sheeesh.

I seriously have to wonder why the POTUS gives this guy any time at all. It can only stir up people who despise the man and hurt POTUS.
So I am happy they keep meeting.

It would have been interesting to be a fly on the wall when President Obama and The Reverend Sharpton had a private moment before the race-hustling trip Mr. Obama made to the National Action Network convention. As background, while WikiPedia is not an authoritative source, it usually gets things right. And looking at the NAN on that site one finds: "The United States and the New York State governments have investigated the organization for tax payment irregularities. As late as 2006 (the most recent year for which documents are available), the National Action Network owes $1.9 million in payroll taxes and penalties." Note, please, that's 2006 not to include the years since. So BHO says to The Reverend: "Al, you've gotta do something about those tax delinquencies." And The Reverend replies: "Don't sweat the small stuff, Barry. It's just a little bookeeping situation. And, besides, we've got a lot of folks working on it including Eric Holder. We'll be cool, man." Ah, yes... The National Action Network and President Obama as warm and snuggly bedfellows... Gotta love it...
