The most reasonable economic liberal in America, Robert Samuelson, sez President Obama's blocking of the Keystone XL pipeline is is dumber than dumb. It's cuckoo.
UPDATE: I don't quite understand how this happened, but the original post linked to a different version of the Samuelson column on this subject. The new link goes to the original piece I found at Realclearpolitics. I think it's much stronger. Why there are two versions, I don't really know.

For those who choose to skip reading the entire link, here is the last paragraph: "As economic policy, it shows that regulatory issues do dampen job growth. They aren’t the only source of weak employment — the housing slump, the hangover from the financial crisis, and Europe’s ongoing problems are major causes — but the administration’s argument that they have no effect is refuted by its own actions." Sorry to offend those who view all caps as shouting but: THE ADMINITRATION'S ARGUMENT THAT THEY [their decisions and policies] HAVE NO EFFECT [on our economic difficulties] IS REFUTED BY ITS OWN ACTIONS. Shout if I may, shout if I might, shout if I must. This administration has no conscience, it has no acceptance of responsibility. The Keystone Pipeline issue is only one and the latest example of how President Obama has failed the American people.
