Are you saying that the President was wrong in attempting to quell the violence resulting from the burnings? What would you have suggested? And Danny, we didn't go into Afghanistan to help the people of that country. Lets not rewrite history.
Bob, the president's apology tour is an absolute disgrace and a slap in the face to all of us who served this Nation. Does Karzai apologize for all the Bibles burned? The American flags? The HUMAN BEINGS??? The Kuran, Quaran, Qu'ran or however you want to spell it is a BOOK. A piece of paper written by a person in the 1600s. It is based largely ion the Bible. And what violanece did Obama quell? So far at least 6 Americans have been slaughtered and many more of other nations because these piueces of paper that were used and defiled to plan an escape and assault on Americans were destroyed - INADVERTENTLY in the garbage heap. Personally, I think they should have made it to the other burn pits where the latrine waste is burned. If Islam is supposed to be such a peaceful religion, they should not have a problem with the destruction of the messages to commit violence. And yes sir, read your history, we went to Afghanistan not just to get binLaden but to free the country from the grip of alQuaida and the Taliban (aka help the people of that country.) Judging from your comment, you had better hope Obama doesn't stop too quickly or your head will wind up in the same place as his.
ILGY - I had no problem with the US going into Afghanistan to get Bin Laden. However, it's simply foolish to believe we were there to help the Afghan people. Rarely do we get involved militarily for humanitarian reasons. But if it makes you feel good, keep on believing.
What's really sad is that in this administration of the worst President in history, foreign policy is regarded as less awful than all the domestic failures.
When you ruin the economy, throw away billions on lame energy schemes, take away religious freedom and kill border patrol agents, the fact that even the French think you are a wimp is considered a success.
No One should apologize for war. The fact that we have acted militarily without congressional declaration since WW II has caused much dissent among fairly intelligent folks.
War should be very simply applied. It should involve every citizen and all available soldiers in a concerted effort of "boot on neck", and diplomacy (or discussion, if you like) should come after "Do you give yet?" documents are signed. No apologies needed(take heed, Obama) ... and no "keep shopping, I've got this" (Bush) ... CONGRESS should declare wars, and the rest of us should win them!

There comes a point in loss assessment, between lives lost and money spent trying to help someone, that apologies should never, never be needed.
