Not Very Cool

The American Prospect's Paul Waldman thinks Barack Obama is the epitome of "cool." Others disagree. So do I.

This is NOT cool.

  1. Cool is something which is inate. Obama is perpetually scripted and teleprompted and staged. No, he clearly is not very cool.

  2. I have nothing but respect for the President. I would love to have him over for dinner. I would love to shoot hoops with him and talk about my experience and my family. I like that he basically adopted the Bush/Cheyney military policy. I think it would be cool to hang out with him. But I would think that of any sitting President.I don't care that he golfs on weekends. I like it when he sings on stage. He did that very well.

I do not like his administrations policies. I do not like where he is taking the country. But I think he is cool, that doesn't make him smart.... Fonzy in Happy Days was cool, but we wouldn't have elected him President!

  3. Sorry, Danny, but I don't think pre-planned, scripted, teleprompted, and staged is cool. This man is 100% what he is. And that is a man on a mission to reign supreme, a man on a mission to change our society as we know it, a man who does not care what debt he leaves behind for Malia and Sasha's generation to repay. Tha't not cool.

  4. I agree with Danny, I'm not a fan of his policies, but I have nothing against him personally. He seems like a man's man, a sports guy like myself, someone whom I'd enjoy talking to. Personally, I'd probably get along with him better than Bush, although W and I share the art of self-deprication.

  5. Charlie and Steve,

We are all correct. I can easily separate the politics and ideological differences and appreciate the fact that I might be sharing a beer with the POTUS! I would love to get an hour or 2 with any of them. We have the love of family, sports and many other things in common! Don't hate, Charlie!!
