Spencerblog's prediction on Obamacare comes true. I mean, does this describe Obamacare or what?
[Boy:] On a hot summer night,
would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?
[Girl:] Will he offer me his mouth?
[Boy:] Yes.
[Girl:] Will he offer me his teeth?
[Boy:] Yes.
[Girl:] Will he offer me his jaws?
[Boy:] Yes.
[Girl:] Will he offer me his hunger?
[Boy:] Yes.
[Girl:] Again, will he offer me his hunger?
[Boy:] Yes!
[Girl:]And will he starve without me?
[Boy:] Yes!
[Girl:] And does he love me?
[Boy:] Yes.
[Girl:] Yes.
[Boy:] On a hot summer night,
would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?
[Girl:] Yes.
[Boy:] I bet you say that to all the boys!
For you dim bulbs...
Wolf = Government
Red Roses = Obamacare
Boy = Obama
Girl = The Public
Dig it!
You can't be serious. Pass the gravy Meatloaf.
ReplyDeleteIt is serious, Bob. When you have a chance, please take a look at the United States Constitution and look at the definition of "tax". I And if you have the time, look at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax
ReplyDeleteI don't think you'll find anything that refers to a tax on someone who does not do something. Chief Justice Roberts was correct: Congress has the authority to impose taxes. But Chief Justice Roberts neglected to look also to the Constition to understand what a tax is in our country. A mandate is a mandate. Roberts and the liberals on the SCOTUS may call it a tax but that doesn't mean they got it right. Get ready to eat broccoli or pay a tax for not eating it. That's now the law of the land.
Charlie, when Republicans push it (Romney in Mass.) it's a mandate. When Dems push it, it's a tax. Bottom line, no more free rides. Personal responsibility for those who can afford insurance, and a structure in place for those who can't. I would still prefer single payer. This doesnt go far enough.
ReplyDeleteSingle payer, private provider is still the way to go.
ReplyDeleteBob, if single payer is the answer to health care why are so many Canadians coming to the USA to obtain the health care they are being denied by the single payer system? I know you won't agree now but just wait until the details of Obamatax are articulated and we can see the impact on employers who currently provide group insurance to their employees. It is widely expected that many of them will not be able to continue their existing programs, that have provided significant benefit to so many, and dump everyone into the pool. However (he says tongue in cheek) at least we can rely on the Internal Revenue Service to do a good job enforcing the tax.
ReplyDeleteCharlie two times - Myth: Canadians are paying out of pocket to come to the U.S. for medical care.Most patients who come from Canada to the U.S. for health care are those whose costs are covered by the Canadian governments. If a Canadian goes outside of the country to get services that are deemed medically necessary, not experimental, and are not available at home for whatever reason (e.g., shortage or absence of high tech medical equipment; a longer wait for service than is medically prudent; or lack of physician expertise), the provincial government where you live fully funds your care. Those patients who do come to the U.S. for care and pay out of pocket are those who perceive their care to be more urgent than it likely is.
