The suspense is killing me. But I must say, very well written. I remember several 20 20 and 60 Minutes segments on how some of the insurance companies would reward employees for denying claims. Kind of hard for me to feel sorry for them.
I agree AGAIN with Bob. Very well written piece, and like him I can't wait for 2nd installment!
I know for fact that Dan Hilferty is one of those rare people who is talented, committed, conscientious, and highly principled. It is no surprise he has succeeded professionally. And when he says he is trying to lead Independence Blue Cross and, thus, health care in the Delaware Valley to a point where everyone is in the loop, connected, and collaborating for the bettrerment of patients: Take it to the bank. He means it.
Hilferty's HHS dilemma: A $2M-a-year job, or his integrity and soul.
I hope I'm wrong, but my bet is that he takes the money.
