About the UFCW signing a pact that will make it more difficult to privatize liquor. REALLY??? What were the government negotiators thinking??? So a few greedy union reps representing only a few thousand PA workers will hold the entire state hostage in a woefully archaic model. That stinks.
And POP the bubble will. Why it has taken so long is a mystery. Since the late 1980s, private colleges have increased tuition charges so they could also increase the student aid budgets for grants to selected students. Another grand example of wealth transfer. Parents who could afford the tuition at College ABC would be subsidizing the tuition of a student who couldn't afford the tuition at College ABC. But after over 20 years of this game the top line has reached the point that most parents cannot afford to play the game. So, yes, along with the spread of administrative offices such as those noted in Mr. Will's column, the reduced faculty teaching loads, the continuing dilution of the value of a college degree: POP will go the Ed Bubble for sure.
