Louis Freeh: Hypocrite?

A former graduate assistant Penn State football coach tells me he saw suspect behavior on the part of Jerry Sandusky during his two-year stint with the program. And he believes Paterno and others covered it up.

My print column is up.

Meanwhile, Louis Freeh had his own scandal to deal with when he was the head of FBI in the 1990s. According to the main whistleblower in the FBI crime lab fiasco, Frederic Whitehurst, Freeh was no truth seeker. He was a vindictive, institution-protecting bureaucrat.
“While I was reporting issues at the FBI crime lab, FBI Director Louis Freeh was doing every thing he could to shut me down including coming at me with proposed criminal charges, referrals for fitness for duty (psych evals), destroying my career, moving me around the lab like a rag doll, ruining my wife’s career. This man has no conscience and he is accusing Penn State managers of not taking any steps. He ought to be ashamed. Before the lab scandal is over you will find that Freeh was right in the middle of it. He did EXACTLY what the Penn State folks did.”
Over the years, the deficiencies in the crime lab resulted in hundreds, if not thousands, of people being found guilty of crimes they did not commit.

Of course Paterno knew. Anyone with a lick of common sense could have figured this one out. I guess that's why Jake and Charlie haven't figured it out yet.

In this case, I am forced to agree with Bob. Joe Pa knew, and all he did was get Sandusky eliminated from his football team. Joe Pa allowed the executive board to make the final decision as to the fate of the child molester. Moral decency was missing. Joe Pa, a family man and grandfather, allowed a monster to remain free, as long as he no longer was connected with his blessed football program.(Or anyone else s as I see it)
Does this one serious transgression remove all the positive influences in this mans life? Only history and time will tell. But in my eyes, he is sullied.
FYI, I have no connection to Penn State.

Nice disclaimer at the end. That would make a great name for a rock group. "Danny and the Disclaimers"
Think about it.

Let me say it again for our poor friend, Bob.
It's about facts, not feelings.
The only evidence against JoePa is a hearsay email from a perjury defendant.
How about we wait and see if the courts find him credible before we decide he is telling the truth about JoePa?
The District Attorney, Child Welfare authorities, PSU General Counsel, Attorney General, Board of Trustees and Second Mile Board all have greater roles in permitting Sandusky to continue his heinous acts than JoePa.

Jake - I think I know where you might be able to pick up a Paterno statue. Cheap. You could put it on your front lawn.

You have my sincere best wishes to accomplish as much in your life as a wretched public sector parasite as JoePa accomplished in his meaningful and honorable leadership of thousands of college students.

Jake - My heroes don't protect pedophiles. Good luck with that.

That's right, Bob, your heroes protect gun runners and murderers.

You're mistaken Jake. Bush and Reagan aren't my heroes.

Just claim executive privilege, Bob. Then you don't have to own up to your mistakes.

Jake - Bush used it 6 times. Reagan used it 3. Obama's used it once. So whats your point?

And talk about protecting gun runners. Can you say Iran Contra? Sure you can.

Iran-Contra = Freedom fighters
Fast and Furious = Drug Cartels
Even the most partisan public sector parasite can see the obvious difference.

Freedom fighters? LOL. The weapons shipped to Iran went to freedom fighters?

Furnishing guns to Mexican drug cartels achieves what policy goal?
Oh yeah, accomplish every liberal's dream of gun control.
Doesn't matter that US Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was collateral damage.
The criminality of Fast and Furious makes Watergate look like jaywalking.

Jake! Good news. That statue? It's available. You want it? Maybe you can commission a statue of Sanduski to go with it.

Lynch mobs typically think they have achieved something, but calmer heads usually prevail.
It might take a while, but JoePa will win this one, too.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
King Arthur: [after Arthur's cut off both of the Black Knight's arms] Look, you stupid Bastard. You've got no arms left.
Black Knight: Yes I have.
King Arthur: *Look*!
Black Knight: It's just a flesh wound.
