Sandra Fluke’s claim to fame, aside from provoking Rush Limbaugh's misogynistic ire, is that she chose to attend Georgetown Law School, knowing full well that the Catholic university's student health plan did not cover birth control, and then demanded that the policy be changed, under force of law, as a matter of "reproductive justice." Although Fluke could have picked a different school, she told The Washington Post last February, "I decided I was absolutely not willing to compromise the quality of my education in exchange for my health care."
Fluke's sense of entitlement and her casual resort to the use of force made her an ideal speaker for last week's Democratic National Convention, where she was joined by many others who believe justice requires that they receive whatever they want (including automaker bailouts and cheap student loans), even if other people have to pay for it. This mentality is so pervasive among Democrats that they seem unable to distinguish between defending rights and soliciting subsidies.
They don't call it Reason for nothing. Read it all.
It is very sad that Ms. Fluke did not have the benefit of sex education earlier in life. Perhaps had she had that benefit she would have been taught that the best way for a woman to have control of her own body was to take control of her body. Maybe she would have learned that so-called unwanted pregnancies are a result of male/female physical contact. And maybe she would have been taught that to prevent unwanted pregnancies all a woman who wants control of her own body has to do is take control of her own body and not allow the type of male/female physical contact that creates unwanted pregnancies.
ReplyDeleteMy reading on this tends to lean on politics. Ms. Fluke gets a pass on all this because she is a woman. If Romney went after her, he would be the man talking down to a woman. So decisions have been made to ignore it.
ReplyDeleteNo way any government should be paying anything for this spoiled little girl. She is 31 years old, still in school and wants handouts because I am sure her daddy gave her everything she whined for as she was growing up. If this woman can't find 12 bucks a month for her PILL or IUD then she should get married and have her husbands insurance pay for it.
The funny part is, these people claim they want government out of the bedroom, but they want government in the bedroom when they might be pregnant from opening their legs. Wild stuff.
Great line in this article -- I'm so happy to reference it before Danny...
ReplyDelete"If the right to arms does not entail a right to gun subsidies, why would a right to abortion entail a right to abortion subsidies?"
So well put, Danny: "these people claim they want government out of the bedroom, but they want government in the bedroom when they might be pregnant from opening their legs." You have connected the dots in a way that others have not. Unfortunately the distribution of your astute post will be limited. But truer words have never been spoken. Sincere thanks!

Hi there.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing a few months of hard work due to no data backup.
Do you have any solutions to prevent hackers?
