The coverage of the Chris Dorner case has been pretty dismal in some places including the New York Times. His charges of racism at the LAPD have been swallowed whole by a large swath of the usual race baiters, facts be damned.
The incomparable Heather MacDonald lays it out here.
Have faith... The relevance of the NY Times is clarified by this announcement: "In early December, executive editor Jill Abramson offered buyouts to staff in an effort to cut 30 newsroom positions, but said she would be "forced to go to layoffs" if they could not secure the necessary buyouts." In the business world the bell shaped curve of a product life cycle is very clear. Once in the downside of the curve in decline, the ultimate spiral to demise is inevitable. It may take a few more years but the NY Times is at a point where it should put its head between its legs and kiss its butt goodbye.
