It Isn't Happening Everywhere

It could happen anywhere but it isn't. It's happening in Philadelphia one of the worst run cities in America.

Maybe this recent spate of shootings and violent criminality will start focusing the minds of civic leaders there. A serious crack-down is warranted. More cops. More jails. Tougher longer prison sentences for violent offenders. When are these people going to get it? When are the citizens of Philadelphia going to demand it?

Randal:

You got that right. Nutter will continue this trend. When will one of these politicians take the threat to our security seriously. It is not the gun, it is the person. Politicians will not consider harsher penalties, but will promote revolving door justice.

Guns have as much to do with causing violence as the spoon has been causing obesity (think Rosie).

For anyone thinking of voting for a Democrat next week, they should first consider what has become of places that have suffered under years of Dem rule. Places like Philly and New Jersey.

Randal:

I am beginning to think that there is less and less of a difference between dems and repubs any more.

Upper Darby is controlled by republicans and I just sued them for confiscating legally owned firearms from a private residence. The Township said that if my client wants them back that she would have to sue. Now they have their very own federal civil rights suit. It will be in the paper tomorrow.

Philadelphia needs an overhaul from the bottom to the top. Michael Nutter could do it if he has the slightest bit of intelligence. Unfortunately he seems to be hanging his hat on an unconstitutional "stop and frisk without reasonable suspicion" policy that he plans to have the Police enforce.

What he should be concentrating on is finding a top notch Police Commissioner and letting him/her run the Police Department. Then get his party to put in a top notch District Attorney who can get the DA's Office to prosecute criminals on ALL of the charges that are brought against them instead of Nolle Prossing all the serious charges to get plea bargains. We have stiff gun laws. They are being enforced. People are being charged with violating them. They just aren't going to trial on them. The stiff penalties called for in gun and drug laws are tossed out during the plea bargaining to clear cases that are misleadingly counted as guilty pleas when all the serious charges are dropped. This happens here in Delco/Chester also and people just don't know about it. No one ever asks "How many of the shooters (and victims too) should have been in jail at the time the crime was committed, had they been properly prosecuted on their previous arrest(s)".

Why don't you racists (read: Gil and randal) go somewhere where everybody is pasty white like you and then we will all be much happier! Then when your apparent buddies (read: John Green) commit "white collar crime" you can write pieces in the paper about how their felony charges are so undeserved, and there won't be anyone to disagree with ya!

Oh and not everyone can grow up in a Main Line mansion with servants like F. Gilman did -- we lowly po folks don't mean to offend.

I guess we're racists because we don't let the black man break any law he wants? Get a clue you loser. It's not the 1960's anymore. Get off your butt and put your crutch away. It's time for you to stand up and succeed as an individual instead of sitting around doing nothing and using the color of your skin as a crutch. How upset would you be if the tables were turned and a white cop assassinated a black man? I'm sure the headline grabbing Al Sharpton would have made an appearance by now.

Dear anonymous: Thank you for revealing your ignorance. I am as white as you are and have a very good job. I just don't like people who classify others by their feelings about the color of their skin. Like you just did.

Leave it to Gil Spencer, uber-hater, to provide a topic and a forum for a bunch of racists to share their racist pig views.

Why not just send the KKK an invitation to post on your blog? How much do you get paid for each post? Because you obviously just try to think of the nastiest stuff to say to get people posting, you pig.

So I’m a racist for quoting a militant black racist like Street? Lol… If you say so…
Nothing racist has been posted on this board. And whitey will no longer be bullied into silence on issues that are racial that impact all of us.
Times are changing. Evolve.

I don't think I'll ever get over how many people come to this blog to pick an argument with someone else. Not a debate, but they come here just to argue. They will intentionally lure someone into an argument. I guess they think that makes them intellectually superior?
