Banned in Aston

The Daily Times was banned from a press conference to announce where talented high school b-baller, Tyreke Evans, is going to go to play his semi-pro ball (i.e. college for a year.)

Apparently, the Evans family had a problem with this newspaper covering a Chester shooting incident in which Tyreke was the driver and dissing him by not naming him Delco Player of the Year.

My colleague over in sports, Terry Toohey, strikes just the right note between amusement, disgust and Who Cares!

LOL, Banned by a Superstar! Let's see what happens when Calipari jumps ship in the next year or two for the usual "greener pastures" and Memphis goes back to below .500 status!

Yet another urban homie with questionable character and friends exulted, celebrated and to be rewarded with absurd riches for his ability to bounce a silly ball. And they didn’t like having any truth printed that might jeopardize that. They obviously expected the favorable special PC treatment blacks have come to expect from the Lib Press. If the DT was going to make him Player of the Year, fine. But don’t dare report anything negative, no matter how truthful.

College has become little more than an affirmative action step to the pros. It’s time Higher Education get out of the sports business.

Only in America, would we reward a thug involved in a shooting with a career in the NBA. Laughable.

Except that WE are not "rewarding" him anything.

Tyreke will make it in the NBA if, and only if, he has the talent and skill to do so.

Spencerblog is not rooting against him.

With the NBA being 95% black, they desperately need to institute some affirmative action to correct this gross racial imbalance and insert some more white players so as to better reflect society’s racial makeup.
But blacks and their apologist Lib buddies that implement things like Affirmative Action don’t want to talk about this. See, they really don’t want anything resembling “fairness” or racial “balance” –that’s a lie- they just want to boost blacks and if that means discriminating against or ignoring whites, so be it.
In Lib Speak “diversity” means “more black”. Period. And "racism is the ultimate evil" …but only when it comes from whites.
