For Gay Marriage, Against Cal's Ruling

Legal analyst Stuart Taylor Jr. wholeheartedly supports gay marriage and believes the California Supreme Court's decision was dishonest, activist and imperial.

Taylor writes that the court's claim not to be imposing it policy prefences on the public...

"... was a deeply disingenuous dodge, if not a bald-faced lie, to conceal from gullible voters the fact that the decision was a raw exercise in judicial policy-making with no connection to the words or intent of the state constitution. It is inconceivable that anyone but a supporter of gay marriage "as a matter of policy" could have found in vague constitutional phrases such as "equal protection" a right to judicial invalidation of the marriage laws of every state and nation in the history of civilization."

Bingo.

  1. It’s good to see the rare Lib who still values law and integrity and doesn’t abide by the “By any means necessary” Lib Mantra even if doing so fails to serve his wants. This is a rare show of class from a Lib.
Our resident integrity-challenged Lib, Dishonest David D, could take a lesson from this guy.

  3. Yeah, not much loyalty in the Lib ranks. They'll turn on their own the moment one steps outside the prescibed Lying Lib line.

Hey, Mr. S, ya up for a beer tonight?
