The author acknowledges repeated that "Don't Ask Don't Tell" is discriminatory.
Rewarding such discrimination with giving them access to the best and the brightest does nothing to discourage the practice. It's been ridiculous that our armed forces are supposed to protect our freedoms, yet engage in discrimination that is illegal in the rest of the government.
Once Obama lifts the current policy and allows gays to serve openly, ROTC will be able to return to campuses. So, Mr. Foote can hang on for the next 40 days or so.
There are many other people who are excluded for a variety of reasons. What you lose when you allow openly homosexual soldiers is a breakdown of morale and your command structure. Homosexuality is immoral, just like adultery and sodomy. Adultery and sodomy are crimes under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
So that all means that if two guys sodomize each other consensually, then it is a crime.in the military.
how far do you go with the pc movement in the military? conduct in the military is not condusive for homosexuals, youre asking the military to implode from within with the number of future lawsuits and new regulations designed to not offend yet hurt existing protocol.
DA/DT was created to be inclusive. But, as always, that's not good enough for Libs and their gay friends as they push too far. Look at their ugly outrage over Prop 8. They should respect democracy and accept that The People have spoken and let it go. Why do they always need to be "open" about who they go to bed with? Such people are sick. They should be happy that we as a society no longer kill gays and leave it at that. Any school that barrs ROTC should have its federal dollars pulled. Period.
"What you lose when you allow openly homosexual soldiers is a breakdown of morale and your command structure." Same exact thing was said about integrating the black and white soldiers.
"Homosexuality is immoral" No, you are.
"just like adultery and sodomy." False analogy.
"Adultery and sodomy are crimes under the Uniform Code of Military Justice." How about pre-marital sex? The supreme court struck down sodomy laws directed at gays. What about all the "straight" military personal that visit the local brothels where they are stationed? (What about John McCain who was a professional adulterer during his marriage and military service?)
My description of Scott Shields: "Seems so simple!"
Thoughtful response, but short-sighted.

ReplyDeletepc movement has no place on the battlefield.
