Scandal Reaching Obama's Inner Ring

Obama advisor Rahm Emmanuel is sure acting like someone who's got something to hide.

Just because he is not the "target" of the investigation doesn't mean there are not FBI recordings of him saying some embarrassing things in the Blago "pay for play" scandal.

He needs to answer a few questions and sooner rather than later.

  1. Obama isn't even sworn in and I'm getting the Jimmy Carter flashbacks. This is not a good time for our country to have a President who is overwhelmed by the job.

  2. It doesn't mean there are embarrassing things either (besides profanity).

  3. Overwhelmed?

Jake, Obama's running a thorough and competent transition, and making it look easy. He'll probably be the most prepared guy ever to take over, especially during a crisis.

If Obama did any deal cutting, Governor Blag.... wouldn't have complained about Obama refusing to pay to play.

  4. Carter came in with executive experience and yet his inability to control/lead the politicians and Beltway bureacracy caused his presidency to be an abject failure.
Obama has no executive experience, has already caved to the DC establishment with his cabinet selections (how is Hillary, Daschle, Gates, Emanuel and Biden any change we can believe in?)and now all the morally-challenged characters from his past, like Ayers, Rev Wright and Gov Blag, are looking to raise their profile with his election.
Carter started with high hopes for ethics and competence, and then spiralled down to that godawful Mideast rescue attempt that illustrated his overwhelming incompetence.
I'm just getting the sense that Obama is heading down the same road. For the sake of the nation, I hope I'm wrong.

  5. The Left is still trying to spin this to Obama's favor.
Obama is a product of the corupt Ill politics. There is smoke all around him; there's fire there somewhere. His silence is smokey too.
Just wait until we hear what Rahm Emanuel said to Blago on tape.
And watch as all Obama critics are called "racist".

  6. He said: "Blago, you are a very bad man and you're going to prison."

  7. Barack Obama had begun thinking about his Senate successor even before the presidential election, and dispatched Rahm Emanuel days after the vote to contact aides of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to begin talking up Mr. Obama's preferred candidates, associates of Mr. Emanuel said this weekend.

the issue of Mr. Obama's Senate replacement was sensitive enough that senior Obama aides wanted to keep the matter within the circle of Illinois political figures

Among those in Mr. Obama's inner circle, Mr. Emanuel had one of the closest relationships to Mr. Blagojevich, a Democrat.

Mr. Emanuel ... spoke by phone with aides to the governor

Neither Mr. Emanuel nor representatives of the transition team would comment for this article.

The Chicago Tribune reported Saturday that Mr. Emanuel relayed to Mr. Blagojevich's team a list of candidates who would be acceptable to the Obama camp, and that these conversations were captured on a tape possessed by U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald.

Hmmm, this all would seem to contradict Balack Obama’s firm statement that no one from his camp had any contact with Blago on the matter.
Caught in another lie and he’s not even in office yet.
Gotta love all that “change” you dopes voted for.

  8. Neo-cons. Salivating at the thought of Obama getting caught up in this scandal just so they can say "I told you so". Well guess what girls? It ain't happening.

  9. Neo-Libs. Blindly defending Obama at all cost because he is black ...and not Bush.

  10. defending obama at what "cost"? the fbi tapes show obama was completely legit on this. they are cooperating with investigation and have not been named as targets. there's nothing to defend.

  11. It wouldn't matter if there was something there or not, to you Daves. Obama himself could be on those tapes selling his seat and they'd dismiss it as overblown, insignificant and un-newsworthy.
I told ya, blind partisan Lib liars like yourself are quite predictable.

  12. r, there you go again imagining things that didn't happen. Here's an "if" for you: What if Palin was on tape talking about selling Ted Steven's seat?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Leave it to Randal to insert race into the issue.

  14. No, BB, the Daves insert race every time they defend Obama by calling his critics "racist". Get it right.

  15. Here's an "if" for you: What if Palin was on tape talking about selling Ted Steven's seat?

Well, I can honestly say that I wouldn't blindly defend her as you would/ do Obama, DDD.
But then, nothing you say is said honestly.

  16. How is it "blindly defending Obama" when there is not a single shred of evidence or reporting involving him in the scandal in the first place? The only mention of Obama that actually was released was the complaint that Obama wouldn't participate in buying/selling the seat.

  17. We just covered that in the “If” Hypothetical Chronicles. Pay attention.
