It was Matt's uncle, Joe Moran, who alerted us to this story. We just received an e-mail from him.

He writes:

The team has been invited out to dinner by a man who would rather remain anonymous, he said that it was great to open up the paper and read about a bunch of kids who made the right decision. The Mayor of Upper Darby has invited the team to the next council meeting so they can be recognized for what they did. Also, the CYO Hall of Fame contacted the Steven Family and invited them to thier next dinner. There are also a few people that read your article and sent it to people they know at ESPN.
