Sen. Evan Bayh announces he's had enough of the U.S. Senate.

The moderate's refusal to run for a seat he'd have a good chance of retaining is direct facial to the Obama Administration, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and the liberal wing of his party. Progressives are saying good riddance, just like conservatives said good riddance to Sen. Arlen Specter. But at least Bayh is doing the honorable thing. He didn't switch sides to save his political hide.
