Preferring President Palin
The father (grandfather) of neo-conservatism, Norman Podhoretz, defends Sarah Palin by reminding his conservative friends that before Ronald Reagan was RONALD REAGAN, he too was considered a light-weight air-head.
Podhoretz is careful to say this doesn't mean that Palin should be President of the United States but I certainly agree with him that based on his performance so far, he would prefer Palin in the Oval Office than its current resident.
What Palin understands that Obama seems not to is that America has been a force for good in the world and is not a nation that needs to be led on an apology tour of the galaxy.
Too many people are mesmerized by those with oratorical gifts. They confuse erudition with competence and I.Q. with wisdom. There have been many very smart men who have been utter failures as political leaders. Jimmy Carter to name one. While there have been others, like Reagan, who wasn't so intellectually gifted but understood the big things in politics and life.
Nice to have both brains and wisdom (like Lincoln). But better wisdom without brains (Truman, Washington) than brains without wisdom (Wilson, Obama).

I guess this is what passes for argument when you go to college in Canada, where the heckler's veto on campus is not only protected but lionized.
Who can forget our commander-in-chief speaking to the graduating class of Naval "Corpsemen"?
Or this gem -- "paying for what you spend is just common sense." Huh?
And weren't we all happy to learn about the nonsensical "profits and earnings ratio"?
The correct term, which most neophyte investors and businesspeople understand intuitively, is price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio.
When discussing education, he said American children should learn Spanish, so they can enjoy the celebration of Cinco de Quatro (Five of Four). I didn't know the Borg had taken over Spain.

Not to mention the inability to understand the basics of car insurance, as detailed in earlier posts. I don't know about anybody else, but that seems to be an incomprehensible mistake for the supposed editor of the Harvard Law Review.
Obama is quite practiced at affecting greater intelligence than he in fact enjoys. He is not unlike the coffee shop intelligentsia, found on most college campuses, who expound profusely on the great mysteries of the universe, all the while unable to hold a productive job.

Bill Ayers, his ghostwriter and infamous 60's firebomber, was just an acquaintance from the neighborhood?
Those aren't even the lies of a reasonably thoughtful man.
What rich irony that the Tranformational One, the great poseur-in-chief, is clearly of lesser intellectual ability than "that dunce" George Bush.
Sarah Palin is a PUPPET and is dumber than Lamb Chop.
The GOP is going to separate itself from women as well as minorities. Maybe that's the plan?
Meanwhile, the Democratic party separates itself from white men.
But who cares, we're racist, sexist, and homophobic - not as homophobic as black men, but... well, you get the idea.
