Update - Gay artist Tim Miller has rescheduled his event. It will now be held at Bryn Mawr college, and Muhlenberg college will sponser a lecture that was to be given at Villanova. Meanwhile, Catholic Monsignor Lynn continues his attempt to have a case dismissed involving the cover up of priests who were abusing children. This involves the destruction of a list of known pedophile priests that the late great Bevilacqua saw fit to cover up and destroy. Got to love those wild and crazy Catholics!

Substitute African Americans for Catholics and maybe you'll realize you sound like a fairly disgusting anti-Catholic bigot.

You've been called on it. Knock it off.

Gil - When I point out the Hypocracy of the Catholic Church, I'm a bigot, but when you point out hypocracy in the black community, your a realist. I'm not so sure I like this double standard. But lets get to the heart of what I've written. Everybthing in my reply was taken directly from your newspaper. Where's the bigotry in that?

BTW- Maybe I wasn't clear on one aspect. When I refer to the Catholics, I'm refering to the hierarchy, not the followers of the Catholic Church.

In any case, thanks for the update on Miller. Bryn Mawr is the perfect place for his talents.

Gil - Point well taken about my remarks about Catholics. I can see where it could sound bigoted if I'm not specific. My beef is with the hierarchy of the church that was involved in covering up these acts of sexual abuse. Those who betrayed the true people of faith. I feel sorry for all of the true believers who were no doubt horrified by the actions of a few. If I'm bigoted towards pedophiles and those who protect them, so be it.

We could just stop funding the arts, but the arts foster a strong sense of community and bring new ideas and cultures to many individuals and families all over the nation. Elimination of such programs would create a cultural vacuum that could not be easily filled.
