The Electability Factor

George Will is unimpressed with the electability of either Rick Santorum or Mitt Romney.

Romney is right about the futility of many current policies, but being offended by irrationality is insufficient. Santorum is right to be alarmed by many cultural trends but implies that religion must be the nexus between politics and cultural reform. Romney is not attracting people who want rationality leavened by romance. Santorum is repelling people who want politics unmediated by theology.
Neither Romney nor Santorum looks like a formidable candidate for November.

It won't matter. Gas will be 6 dollars, the economy is still incredibly slow and folks are seriously hurting.
The only person to blame is President Obama. The Solyndra, Fast and Furious, GM/Volt demanding and Obamacare owning one term president.

Then we can laugh at the next guy, and the next. I get it, they all suck, just some more than others.

But right now, I would put in almost anyone else, but this guy!

I can get behind Romney but tend to agree with G-Willie on this one - neither seems like a real winner. We'll see how the media portrays the e entual nominee come labor day.

One thing we do know for sure is that no one in the Obama administration can read a financial statement.
Mitt is definitely an improvement if you care about responsible government spending.

I seem to remember the primaries in 2008 where analysts started broaching the 'Is it too late for Al Gore to get into the race?' line. Interesting...
