Ain't No Sunshine When He's Gone

Just heard an interview on NPR with Glen Campbell who has Alzheimers'. He's on a goodbye tour with his kids and seems as happy as ever. Here he is in his younger days making his guitar sing as good he could.

And more recently...

Thank you for that first link. I had forgotten that Glen was so good an instrumentalist. I always enjoyed his singing, but that clip on guitar was delightful.

And the second clip shows that Glen still has that voice. His song is very thoughtful and nice.

I have always liked him, even when he acted badly in True Grit!

I wish him well!

Rhinestone Cowboy was the inspiration for my son's interest in the guitar. After many lessons beginning at age 6 he went on to continue to study and became the headline accoustic/vocalist act on Fri/Sat at such places as LaCosta in Sea Isle, The Springfield, Waterfront in Sommers Point, Dead Dog, etc... So Glen Campbell will always have a special place in my heart. And but for the grace of God there go I with him...
