His house a wreck and condemned, Wallingford's Dave Coletta is living in a small, two bedroom modular home on his property with his three young sons while the Nether Providence Township officials look to evict him. He says he'll "outlast them."

I hope he does outlast them. These small township regulations are killing America.
I agree wholeheartedly in the abstract, Danny. But I also have to wonder how I would respond if Mr. Coletta's neighbor. Methinks it is a tough situation for both sides, Mr. Coletta and for the Township.
I am a bit old school. I still talk to my neighbors. I don't have much time for a neighbor who anonymously calls the township to complain and force an issue. People talking instead of townships fining and threatening is what is needed here.
But I fear we will continue to lose freedoms as we allow this methodology to continue!
I agree wholeheartedly. As in I fear too that we will continue to lose freedoms. However, based on Gil's commentary, if I was Mr. Coletta's neighbor, I'm not sure that any amount of direct dialogue would change his position. Hence if I was his neighbor, and direct dialogue did not result in any action on the uninhabitable house that sits next to my property, what recourse would I have? Would any amount of talking to him change his position?

He has been engaged In conversation several times. His answer is that he wants the township to suffer. He says if they are unhappy then he is happy. He says he had the means to fix the roof and "millions of dollars" from properties. You try paying these taxes and looking at an unsafe pig sty. Trying to talk sense into him is impossible. You can't talk sense to a crazy person
