Meet Dan Hilferty

The president and CEO of Independence Blue Cross has one of the biggest jobs in the Delaware Valley and more than a passing interest in what the Supreme Court decides about Obamacare.

My Wednesday print column is up. More tomorrow.

  1. The suspense is killing me. But I must say, very well written. I remember several 20 20 and 60 Minutes segments on how some of the insurance companies would reward employees for denying claims. Kind of hard for me to feel sorry for them.

  3. I know for fact that Dan Hilferty is one of those rare people who is talented, committed, conscientious, and highly principled. It is no surprise he has succeeded professionally. And when he says he is trying to lead Independence Blue Cross and, thus, health care in the Delaware Valley to a point where everyone is in the loop, connected, and collaborating for the bettrerment of patients: Take it to the bank. He means it.

  4. Hilferty's HHS dilemma: A $2M-a-year job, or his integrity and soul.
I hope I'm wrong, but my bet is that he takes the money.
