As The Square Turns II
I am told there may be a few fireworks in Newtown Square tonight when the commissioners get together for their bi-monthly meeting.
People are planning to show up to demand answers about the township's most recent government scandal: FedEx-Gate.
It turns out using FedEx to send personal packages while on Township time is NOT one of their "French benefits."

Gil, I have to disagree.
The public sector unions in Pennsylvania have sacrificed for the right to colorectal bargaining with the taxpayers, earning them well-deserved French benefits.
After learning of the FedEx thing in Newtown Square I took a few days to plan my new initiative. Our company is located in the same Township. Things need to be equal. So today I went into my bosses office and I said: "Boss, me and all of my fellow employees have made a decision. We know you can't afford to give us the same medical benefit that they gets in government work, and we know you can't give us the same pensions they gets in government work, but at least you can give us free FedEx like they gets in government work. So when do we begin?" My boss looked like he was ready to explode. Then he started laughing. And said: "You can get free FedEx shipments when you get a government job. Like you said, better pension and medical benefits too. Good luck. I'll have your final paycheck ready tomorrow. Turn in your keys and badge on your way out. Have a good night..."
Gotta love Jake's take on things... Especially when he is willing to disagree with Mr. Spencer. But a minor clarification is in order, methinks... It is we the taxpayers who have been colorectalized. Unfortunately "we" are not bargaining with the public sector unions. Our elected representatives are doing the bargaining on our behalf. And why would they deny giving French benefits to our public sector union employees? If they refused, they would lose the political support that the public sector unions throw at them. And when we get colorectalized, the only thing we are supposed to do is relax. It is supposed to make the process less painful...
