Condemnation of Urination

Finally, something Bill Maher and I agree on.
If they were real Taliban, if they were people who burned down girls’ schools, and, you know, do honor rapes and throw acid in people’s faces, I’m not that upset about pissing on them.”
Neither am I.

That's Bill Maher for you. Always saying what on his mind. Never holds back. BTW - Just a comment on a previous post. I'm watching Jodi Kantor on C-Span and she was asked about the "Party in Wonderland" She states that the party was something that was done as a nice thing for a lot of children in the Wash. DC area, and she claims the NY Times took that portion of her book out of context and exagerated the importance of it. If you get a chance, watch the interview. It's interesting.

Interesting? Or self-serving? Could it be that she doesn't want to be tarnished by the backlash from the White House so she now backtracks? And how could anyone allege that the NY Times would take anything out of context? Only conservatives would ever do that, Bob...

I think "tempest in a teapot" was how Marie Antoinette characterized the French Revolution.

The bottom line is that this will be broadcast world wide, and it will be another black eye for the United States. I don't know about Bill Maher, Gil, or his band of Merry Men, but I think we're better than this. Or at least we should be. If you believe in American exceptionalism.

Blogger jake said...

The world will publicly condemn the United Stares because they are afraid of the terrorists.
Privately, they will be laughing right along with us, grateful that American exceptionalism remains steadfast and fearless in opposition to these cowards and killers of children.
Don't forget the bodies of those brave Marines dragged through the streets of Mogadishu.

If anything is a black eye on the the world stage, it is this administration's political pandering with our military. The highly-publicized picture of those two female soldiers kissing undermined American fighting men and women all around the world. You can be non-committal towards gay rights and marriage, and still be offended by Obama's social engineering.

Jake - 1. You write "grateful that American exceptionalism remains steadfast and fearless in opposition to these cowards and killers of children." So you admit that Obama is upholding American exceptionalism.

2. I guess you weren't paying attention. The two women kissing were sailors. But then you were probably shielding your eye's, because we all know that if you watch enough of that stuff, you turn Gay! And then you have to go visit Dr. Marcus Bachmann and get ungayed!

3. Soldiers pissing on a corpse vs. a lesbian kiss.....yea, they're equivalent.

Bob,
You should have learned your lesson the last time you tried to correct me:

From dictionary.com
soldier- an enlisted man or woman, as distinguished from a commissioned officer: the soldiers' mess and the officers' mess.

Lame "gotcha" word games cannot disguise the lack of substance to long-discredited liberal posturing.

Jake - Sooooo, you go around calling sailors soldiers, eh? Hmmm. That's a little odd Jake. I don't think anyone is going to buy your explanation. Except for maybe Charlie Six Pack.

Jake - FYI, this from an AP story-
"Marine Gen. James F. Amos, the face of opposition in the military to lifting the ban on gays serving openly, now acknowledges his concern has proven unfounded that repeal would undermine the war effort. In fact, he says, Marines have embraced the change."

I made the mistake of watching the show the other night. Nothing like straight on debate with the Dems mouthpiece, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. When will Maher challenge himself (and his army of writers) by hosting a roundtable with all conservative pundits? Now THAT would be a good watch. Until then, it's the same ol, tired talking poiint thrown out by the Dem's sweetheart at the table followed by a long round of applause by the Faithful Libs in the audience, negating any possible counterpoint.

Bob,

You're just making it too easy.
"...Marines have embraced the change."
Yep, nothing like lesbian tonsil hockey to combat terrorism.

Democrats need to stick to spending money we don't have, race-baiting, and undermining families, guns and religion.
Every time they impose their politically correct agenda on the military, they have another Dukakis moment.

Jake - Enough of the race baiting. It's ugly, and you should know better. But then as Gil pointed out in "Race Card Played Badly in NH", you're a little slow figuring things out. Gil figured it. Maybe you should go back to that post to refresh your memory.
BTW - Did you serve in the military?

We live in a Ball of Confusion, so with apologies to the Temptations:

People movin' out
People movin' in
Why, because of the color of their skin
Run, run, run, but you sho' can't hide
An eye for an eye
A tooth for a tooth
Vote for me, and I'll set you free
Rap on brother, rap on
Well, the only person talkin'
'Bout love thy brother is the preacher
And it seems,
Nobody is interested in learnin'
But the teacher
Segregation, determination, demonstration,
Integration, aggravation,
Humiliation, condemnation of urination
Ball of Confusion
That's what the world is today

Hey, Hey

Jake - Are you proud of yourself for gay bashing these young Americans who want to serve their country? Just remember Jake. Even gay members of the military are fighting to defend your right to voice your opinion. If you really believe that they undermine the military, maybe you or your kids should volunteer to serve a tour of duty in Afghanistan in place of a gay soldier. Hell, maybe you could start a movement. While you're at it, please show me where the military has been undermined by the new policy. I've discussed this issue with my son who recently completed 11 yrs. in the military. His tours of duty took him to Kosovo and Iraq. He said the people he served with could care less about someone's sexual orientation. It didn't matter to them. As long as they did their job. Jake, you need a reality check.

Bob Wasserman-Schultz,
First race-baiting and now gay bashing, you're working the DNC playbook hard.
I've got as much military service as the Commander-in-Chief who is politicizing our armed forces in support of his reelection campaign.
Thoughts and prayers for your son. Just like every American, his opinions are welcome.

Jake - "race-baiting and now gay bashing" If the shoe fit's, wear it. Why does it not surprise me that you have never served? I guess that's why you don't understand the difference between soldiers and sailors. And why does it not surprise me that you would try to deflect the issue by bringing up Obama? We're not talking about Obama Jake. Obama respects Gay members of the military. Redeem yourself Jake. Let me hear you admit that gay members of the military deserve the same amount of respect and the same rights and opportunities given to straight members. Let me hear you say that if they are willing to serve, they are worthy of your respect and admiration for doing something that you weren't willing or capable of doing.

Bob,
You do not wear obtuse as well as your fearless leader.

Please see the previous dictionary.com post to help you better understand the language.

Please see previous post, "You can be non-committal towards gay rights and marriage, and still be offended by Obama'a social engineering.", which explains my position pretty clearly.
I think DADT was pretty good compromise that didn't need to be thrown out by Obama and the liberal extremists.

If you are still having trouble understanding this, then get another one of the kids on the short bus to explain it to you.

Thanks for stepping up and admitting you were wrong, Bob. Nobody can really argue with a dictionary, can they?

It's a good lesson for all your disillusioned Democrat partisans that it's better to focus on vigorous policy debate rather than picayune "gotcha" rhetoric.

But in hindsight, I wish I had stated my position differently.
I should have called those lesbian lip lockers "corpseman" like Obama did.

jake - When I was in the Navy, not once did anyone call me soldier. My son was in the army. Not once did anyone call him sailor. My Dad was in the Navy. If you were to ask him if he was a soldier, I guarantee he'd say "No. I was a sailor." You should at least have enough respect for those who serve to know how to properly address them. But if you think soldiers are sailors, and sailors are soldiers, there's obviously nothing I can do to persuade you that you're wrong. But Jake, we all know you're full of it.
