Barack Obama's Million Little Girlfriends?
So, in his autobiography "Dreams of My Father," Barack Obama now admits that he made up at least one character in the book, his "New York girlfriend."
Now, he says, she was a "composite" of his many girlfriends. Hmmmm.
I think we need Oprah to get to the bottom of this like she did with my fellow Denison alum James Frey and the falsehoods in his "A Million Little Pieces."

From Politico "CORRECTION: An earlier version of this blog post stated that Obama had acknowledged using composite characters in the reissue. In fact, Obama acknowledged the use of composite characters in the first edition of the book." Read page XVII and get back to us.
Was his father a composite character?
That's your defense for repeating inaccurate information?
Why don't you ask him.
No. Thanks for the bringing our attention to Politico's correction.
But in Obama's acknowledgements in his book, he didn't say which characters were composites.
I've never written a memoir but it wouldn't occur to me to make a composite character out of several old girlfriends if I was writing a work of non-fiction. Or impute to that character a conversation that served a narrative means to an end. Just sounds a little sleazy to me.
Do you think it's possible that the dog he reported eating was a composite of several other house-pet type animals?
The next time I see him, I'll ask him.
We all need to be more compassionate towards Obama's disability.
He clearly has a serious compulsion for avoiding the truth, even in his own autobiography.
You should post the Politico correction as an update. Or you can let it satnd as is and continue to misinform your readers. Your call.
Thanks, but no thanks. I think I'll let it satnd. That Obama created a composite character out of numerous girlfriends to act as his foil for discussions about race is interesting news.
If the national media had done a better job vetting Obama the first time around we'd have had a better understanding of what kind of man and what kind of writer he is.
If you're comfortable misinforming your readers, so be it.
Dear Anonymous: I shall defend until my death your right to be wrong with your opinion. But I shall also not shy from saying that your opinion that Gil Spencer misinformed his readers should not stand as the last word. It is obvious to any objective person that it was Obama who misinformed his readers by creating a composite girlfriend who possessed racial tensions when Obama wrote and allowed to be published a so-called autobiography. Obama can try to hide behind his peripheral acknowledgment of using composite characters in his book. Page XVII is not one which many people would have read. And please point me to the page X**** whatever where he clarified that his eating dog was a composite. If he didn't clarify such a composite, it stands as he stated it.
Spencer posted a story that Politico now claims was written in error. Politico posted the correction. Spencer refuses to do so. Please explain how that makes me wrong?
Who cares that Politico excuses Obama's lying, in his own autobiography no less.
The important thing to understand is that Obama is a congenital liar, unfit by experience or upbringing to lead America.
Obviously you've missed the entire point.
Obama's fabrications, acknowledged or not, are never appropriate for an autobiography.
These "composites", like his routine straw men arguments, his deference to tyrants, his reliance on racism, his financial rewarding of cronies and so much more, is why the moral ambivalence that has underpinned his whole administration is being thoroughly rejected by the American public.
Obviously you've missed the entire point.
I may have missed the opportunity to address your marginally relevant point, but I made the larger point quite clear.
Jake always changes the subject Anon. Get used to it.
You know there is less chance of misspelling your name when you stick to Bob, rather than changing to Anonymous.
Did I spell your name right? Dick?
Your latest comment tells us all we need to know. At least no readers are misinformed about your lack of class or credibility.
Thanks Dick
