A Real Torture Victim Escapes to the U.S.
An Iranian dissident escapes the government of that fine country.
Money Q:
"His jailers thrashed him with a metal cable, beat his testicles and kicked in his teeth, he said. They held his face down in a pool of excrement. They tied his arms behind his back and hung him from the ceiling. At other times, strapping him to a chair, they kept him awake night after night, cutting him and rubbing salt into the wounds."
If he had planted a ticking nuclear bomb in Tehren I might understand. But the mullahs were just trying to break his dissident spirit. Not very sporting. And the difference between them and us.
Interesting that he says if the U.S. attacked Iran, he might have to go back and fight for his country himself. In the meantime, he's going fishing. He's earned it.

I just got done watching the water-boarding video of Christopher Hitchens for Vanity Fair.
See it here.
Hitchens volunteered for the job. I wonder would he volunteer to go through what Ahmad Batebi did? (See above.)
There is torture and there is Torture.
As for the deportation of terrorist prisoners, the left wants Guantanamo closed but it wants to make sure all terrorists are treated with kid gloves wherever they are sent.
It's hard to please some people.

So, it seems Diano is now saying torture works when in the past he's said it doesn't.
He's willing to question whether Batebi actually endured torture but he has no doubt that the detainees who claimed to have been tortured by our own government, actually were.
For someone who can't pass the minimum physical standards to join the U.S. Navy, he's pretty quick to accuse others of being weak of spirit, mind and body.
Sounds like when it comes to the American flag, Diano wouldn't disapprove of a fellow lefty using it to clean his toilet as an act of progressive dissent.
It's a free country. No so much thanks to people like Diano, but in spite of them.

There is, in my mind, only one justifiable time to employ torture and that is to glean information to stop an imminent terrorist attack.
Doing the moral calculus on that isn't hard.
Diano doesn't believe U.S. government officials who have testified under oath that the waterboarding of Khalid Shaikh Mohmammed and two others led to information being divulged that saved American lives.
Why? It seems he would rather believe the sworn enemies of the U.S. than his own elected officials when it comes to how badly the U.S. treats our enemy prisoners.
In the meantime, he's willing to question if the Iranian secret police are really as bad as claimed by Batebi, someone who has put his life on the line to question the authoritian regime in his own country.
That's bravery. Real bravery. Not the type that Diano claims for himself for being willing to "speak up and question our government."
How much courage does it take to call George Bush a "war criminal" and "stupid" in today's America? None. Zero. How hilarious that the left give itself so much credit for its supposed bravery of speaking
"truth to power."
The angrier they get, the more childish and lame their insults get.

So weak, it's not even worth a response.

That's Dave ...and every other Lib.
Here Dave calls a win a "surrender". But with the war he calls a surrender a win. Libs are silly little liars.

diano, you really are pathetic. the counrty is great because of people like you? no, people like you should be grateful you live in a country where you're bellyaching is tolerated. I'll pay for you to travel to Russia, start a blog badmouthing Vladamir Putin like you do and republican (or anyone who dare disagree with you) and we can see what happens.
or better yet, how about we see how open minded the Iranians are? You, Cindy Sheehan, Keith Olbermann and Michael Moore can go and try to start a gay rights parade in Tehran. Tell them how you made America great by harassing Gil Spencer's blog, and I'm sure they will let you guys go ahead with it. Just make sure to spike their kool aid with extra hope!

I guess you are proud to live in country with people like Randal who advocate shooting our troops in the back or the killing of the black democratic nominee.
Ho-hum. More dishonesty from Dishonest Dave.
Never have I called for the killing of your Affirmative Action Candidate. And I only advocate we get back to shooting traitors and deserters.
But you know all this …which once again makes you a liar.
The President of the United States is a war criminal?? Umm, saying such things doesn’t exactly bolster the childish hurt feelings positions on things of people like you, DDD. I mean, why not just stick with your standard “WAH! I hate Bush!” and be done with it? Lol…

I think Dishonest Dave is finally losing it.
Yeah, DDD, and remember when you said you were going to murder Bush but then you deleted that post! Lol...

I wouldn't call Obama an affirmative action candidate, randal. I don't believe the color of his skin won him the nomination. Rather, it's his upbeat personality and oratory skills that have won people over, I'm sure he the type we would classify as being able to "sell ice to eskimos".
I think it would be better suited to call Barack Obama the "kool aid" candidate
Nah, S, it is because he is black. It is clear from his racial apologist supporters like Dave that they only support him in this "historic election" because he is black and "it is time for a black in that office". The Daves have said so themselves many times. There's no hinding it now.

no, we just refer to McCain as being more of a man than most of us.

Hollow nit-picking. Or, what some of us call grasping.

And yet he's still better than your Affirmative Action Candidate.
